The Fall Pavilion workshop for Elisava MEATS students was led by TAKK, a Barcelona-based architecture and design studio whose work explores how architecture can act as a catalyst for more democratic ways of living by integrating feminist thought, ecology, and politics into spatial practice.
The project was based on Catenary Systems, a structural principle deeply embedded in Barcelona’s architectural history. Through an iterative design process, students made key decisions over the course of the workshop, shaping and constructing a lightweight canopy that provided both shelter and a gathering space on Elisava’s rooftop terrace.
The resulting structure accommodated a range of programs, from intimate settings to public interactions, by strategically manipulating volumetry and height variations.
